Située à 3800 kilometres des cotes du Chili et à 4200 kilometres de Tahiti, l’ile de Paques est la terre habitee la plus isolee de notre planete. D’une surface de 180 kilometres carres, l’île ressemble à un triangle dont le grand cote mesure 22 kilometres et les deux autres 17 kilometres. Vaste comme deux fois Paris intra muros, comptant aujourd’hui 3000 ames, l’ile ne possede qu’une seule ville, Hanga Roa, situee au sud ouest.
