Track and Field trainer José Luis MARTINEZ RODRIGUEZ. Licensee in Physical Education (INEF of Madrid), Sports educator INSEP (Paris). Specialized National trainer. Masters in top athletics (Spanish Olympic Committee). Trainer for the Royal Spanish Track and Field Federation. Teacher at the National Trainers School since 1965. Teacher for the INEF Degree (1969-82). Trainer for the throw and combined competitions since 1971, in charge of the National Throw and the National Combined Competitions since 1971. Trainer for numerous top level competitions of which 6 Olympic Games, 10 European Championships, 3 World Championships, 5 Mediterranean Games. Physical trainer for the National Alpine Skiing Team for 8 years. Among the athletes he has trained, over 100 have been awarded the title of Spanish Champion and over 30 have set a national record. Awards and Achievements : Spanish Champion in various categories, “absolute” in the 400 and 4x400m, International in all categories (15 “absolute”)
“Absolute” National Recordman in the 4x100 and 4x400m, junior in 400m
Silver Medal (800m) and Bronze medal (4x400m and 4x100m) in the Iberian-American Games. Television : Worked for 16 years (1973-89) on different programs for the Spanish channel TVE and was a Sports commentator for various European and National championships.
