Archaeologist Philippe de CARBONNIERES. Conservation attaché for the Carnavalet Museum, specialist in ancient sport. Member of French Archaeological Mission of Carthage (1976-81), member of the IFAPO (Syria) (1981-84), digs in Upper-Egypt with the Louvre Museum (1988). Created the permanent archaeology rooms in the Carnavalet Museum (1991). Commissioner for the “Antique Bronze of Paris” exhibit (1989) and “ Ten years of acquisitions” (1994) for the Carnavalet Museum. Author of “ Olympia, victory for the gods”, CNRS editions, 1995 and “Lutetia-Paris, Roman city” Gallimard 1997. Scientific adviser for “The History of Sports” 1995 France3-la Sept and “The Olympic Games” 1996 La Cinquième. Co-author of books about Paris since Antiquity, the Roman Stadium and Antique Bronze. Author of a thesis on Classical Greek Era (5th and 4th centuries B.C) Athletic Performances.
His role in the Champions of Olympia: consultant on the project, participated in the writing the screenplay and filming.
