Discovered at the beginning of the century by the archeological team of the French School of Athens, this charioteer of a bronze quadriga was at the entrance of Apollo’s temple in Delphi.  This work of art is dedicated to Polyzalos, the tyrant of Gela, after his victory in the Delphi Games (Pythic Games).  The young man is holding the reins and wearing the victory headband around his forehead, decorated with a silver meander.  478 B.C.  Archeological Museum of Delphi.
