Bronze statuette representing an athlete on the starting line of the sprint (192 meters) or the diaulos (2 times192 meters). The engraved inscription on the athlete’s right thigh means “I belong to Zeus”, a nice example of symbiosis between the cult of the god and the sports competitions. Archeological Museum of Olympia.
