Paris (75) - Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris : A hauteur des portails de la facade ouest. Au nord de la facade ouest, vue generale du portail de la Vierge, qui a servie de modele aux imagiers pendant tout le Moyen-Age. Le tympan central represente le couronnement de Marie : le Christ tend un sceptre a sa mere, qu'un ange couronne. Au linteau central, la dormition de la Vierge en presence du Christ et des apotres. Au linteau inferieur, l'Arche d'alliance est entouree par les prophetes, qui ont annonce la destinee glorieuse de la mere de Dieu, et les rois dont Marie descend. Autour du tympan central, les voussures sont bordees de de feuillages, de fleurs, et de fruits. Les quatre cordons evoquent la cour celeste, avec des anges, des patriarches, des rois et des prophetes.
