Paris (75) - Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris : La facade sud, uniquement visible depuis les quais de la rive gauche de la Seine. Car ce cote de la cathedrale, celui du presbytere et de la sacristie, est ferme au public. Le transept sud, dernier grand bloc a avoir ete edifie, est un chef-d'uvre du gothique flamboyant. L'enorme Rose (rosace), de 13,1 metres de diametre, fut offerte par Saint Louis. Plusieurs fois endommagee, elle fut restauree par Viollet le Duc au XIXe siecle, qui la fit pivoter de 15 degres pour lui donner un axe vertical et la consolider.
