Discovered at a site in the South of France and currently conserved in the Angoulême museum, this helmet is built from an iron hull and adorned with a bronze plating, which was then completely covered with gold and incrusted with coral. As a ritual object this helmet was doubtfully ever worn, but provides a fantastic example of the talents of Celtic goldsmiths. Today’s scientists have not discovered what high-ranking character was worthy of such a luxury.
