Political intrigue, family mysteries – the secrets of the Tabbet al-Guesh necropolis have yet to be revealed. But the search continues. Vassil Dobrev and his team will no doubt require many more years to complete the excavation of the necropolis and piece together what happened there 4300 years ago. Once Hau-Nefer’s body is found, they will begin the quest for the mysterious pharaoh and his family. As the highest members of the clergy were always buried in close proximity to the king they served, there is no doubt that Ouserkare’s resting place is not far off. Yet day still ends and night still falls on the souls on the defunct in the necropolis of Tabbet al-Guesh, as it has for 4300 years. In Saqqara, news travels fast, and right away a group of armed guards patrol the area to discourage potential poachers. The future looks bright – let us protect it!
