At the Tabbet al-Guesh site, the stratagraphic digs continue. Near the imposing Late Period brick structures, the IFAO mission has discovered a section dated to the Old Kingdom. An actual street, nearly 4300 years old, begins to emerge from the sands. In the background, from left to right, the pyramids of Djedkare (truncated), Pepi I, Merene (truncated). Dashur, Pepi II and Meidoum.
