The Church of our Savior on Spilled Blood. Of a flamboyant Russian
Renouveau style, the building is in radical contrast with the neo-Classical
and Baroque architectures that dominate the center of St Petersburg. Scenes
from the New Testament, portraits of saints, coats of arms ( representing the
regions, the cities and provinces of the Russian empire): no fewer than 7 000
m2 of mosaic cover the church's exuberant façade.
