Four horses and their trainers, designed by Peter Klodt in 1840 frame the
Fontanka Canal and cross the Nevsky Prospect. Everyday, five million St
Petersburg inhabitants cover the central artery of Vladimir Putin's native
city. Many churches of different persuasions built in the 18th and 19th
centuries have baptized the avenue with the name of "Tolerance Street".
