Battle of Verdun: Chapel of the national necropolis (one of the four with those of Notre Dame de Lorette, Dormans and Old Armand) and Douaumont ossuary, which collects the bones of about 130,000 soldiers french and German strangers gathered under the slab of a crypt 137 meters long. This is front of the ossuary that, on 22 September 1994, François Mitterrand and Helmut Kolh, hand in hand, strengthened the Franco-German friendship.
