Battle of the Somme : Amiens and its Cathedral after the war. Almost destroyed during the war, Amiens knows tragic moments with receptions of refugees in 1917, bombing in 1918, evacuation of populations and severe restrictions. The cathedral retains many works of arts related to the conflict, including the famous "Weeping Angel" (photo), which the postcard has traveled all around the world. (This historic photo archive is not available for sale and only presented here to set the context).
