The rooms of the Treasury, gathered in the sacristy of the chapter since the mid-nineteenth century. Their arrangements, made by Viollet le Duc, was renovated at the 850th anniversary of the cathedral. The rooms exhibit an impressive collection of ornaments, chalices, crosses, cameos representing the popes from St. Peter, and reliquaries (the original Treasury was looted during the Revolution). Here, the reliquary of the cross of St. Claude, who was recognized in 1895 and was given by King René to the Celestine monastery at Avignon. This reliquary, of Gothic style, was executed on drawings made by architect Jules Astruc (1862-1935). The piece was presented at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900.
