North side of the cathedral, rue du Cloitre Notre Dame. The Red portal, built by Pierre de Montreuil in 1270. This gate was reserved for canons of the chapter to circulate between the cathedral and the cloister, which was on the other side of the street but now disappeared. King Saint Louis is represented on the tympanum to the left of the Virgin, crowned by an angel. The wife of Saint Louis (Marguerite de Provence) is to the right of Christ. On the arches surrounding the tympanum, scenes from the life of St. Marcel, Bishop of Paris. Altitude 8 meters.
