At the height of the portals of the west facade. South of the facade, overview of the Portal of Saint Anne, whose sculptures (executed 1160) are the oldest of Notre Dame. At the forefront of the tympanum, the Virgin in majesty presents the baby Jesus, according to Roman tradition. It is surrounded by two angels, a bishop and a king standing on his knees, probably the founder of the Merovingian church. On the central lintel, scenes evoking the life of the Virgin. The lower lintel (thirteenth century) is devoted to parents of the Virgin, St. Anne and Joachim. On the pier, a statue of St. Marcel, bishop of Paris. Altitude 11 meters.
