At the level of the great gallery of chimeras and gargoyles, designed by the architect Viollet-le-Duc, the great restorer of the cathedral in the nineteenth century. Dominated by a chimera of the south tower, the parvis of Notre Dame and the square Jean Paul II. The esplanade has been built by Baron Haussmann in the nineteenth century. In the background l. to r., the church of Saint Sulpice, the Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, the south arm of the Seine, the Prefecture of Police, the Sainte Chapelle, the Palais de Justice, the Châtelet, Montmartre and the Saint Jacques tower. Altitude 43 meters.
