This granite sphinx of King Taharqa (25th Dynasty, 690-664 AD) is a perfect example of "mixing" between the Egyptian and Nubian cultures. While the contours of the face and body of a lion is an Egyptian new empire style, the sculpture of the face and skull (including the two uraeus placed on the front of the monarch) are purely from Nubian inspiration.
