At the entrance of the Museum of Khartoum, a colossal statue of King Taharqa (690-664 AD), the sixth king of the 25th dynasty. Taharqa ruled the Napatan empire which stretched from Palestine, throughout Egypt, to the confines of the Blue Nile and White Nile (now Khartoum). He is mentioned in the Old Testament (Chapter 10.7).
